Terms of use

By installing or playing Volstead you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the game.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and play Volstead on your own devices for non-commercial entertainment. Content creation is covered separately in the section on streaming and fan content below.

What you may not do

Copy, resell, reverse engineer or modify the game except where the law allows it.
Cheat, exploit bugs to harm other players, or interfere with online services.
Harass other players or use the game to break the law.

Online play and hosts

In co-op, the host's device runs the shared world. A host can end a session at any time, and we are not responsible for lost progress caused by disconnection, a host leaving or a crashed session.

Early Access

Volstead is in Early Access. Features, balance and saves may change, and save compatibility between versions is not guaranteed.

Updates and availability

We may update the game and may change or discontinue online features. We will give reasonable notice where we can.

Warranty and liability

The game is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be excluded. Adjust for your jurisdiction.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of governing law, for example the State of ..., USA.

Streaming and fan content

Draft policy, please confirm: you may stream, record, review and monetize Volstead footage, and make fan art and guides, without asking permission. Please do not sell our logo or assets as merchandise and do not imply the content is official.

Fictional setting and content

Volstead is a work of fiction set in an alternate-history version of the Prohibition era. Names, places, organizations and events are fictional or used fictitiously. Any resemblance to real people or businesses is coincidental.

The game depicts the production and smuggling of alcohol, bribery and evasion of law enforcement as fictional gameplay. It does not endorse or encourage illegal activity or irresponsible drinking. Please drink responsibly and follow the laws where you live.
